About Us
Hi, we're Chesnee and Francesca Barney! We bought Emslie's in July, 2023. Our vision from the start was to revive and modernize this small business, which happens to be the OLDEST flower shop in New England, and let it blossom to its full potential!
A little background about us: Chesnee is currently attending Husson University, majoring in business management and marketing. Chesnee has dreamed of owning and running her own business for years. Francesca recently graduated from Spaulding High School and Central Vermont Technical Career Center. She is a licensed cosmetologist and can’t wait to coordinate wedding hair and flowers for future brides! Tracie, proud mom of Chesnee & Francesca, is the Executive Director of The Barre Partnership and is beyond ecstatic to be able to help keep a Barre business open and watch her daughters blossom into Barre business owners!
Our team expanded at the beginning of this year with the addition of a full time manager. Kate is as crazy for Emslie's as we are and it shows. She has been a top contributor in getting us back into wedding florals while also organizing things in the business. Vanessa is our full time florist. She is loved by our customers and does an excellent job at working with us to bring our visions to life! We are proud to be Woman owned and operated.

Meet "Flora the Flower Delivery Jeep!" Originally, she was manufactured in 1975 as a mail jeep. We were so lucky to have found her when we did and boy, do we have some BIG plans for her. We are so thankful that our grandfather (“Baby" to us, but, Tom to most), loves us enough to work on this project all winter long, including giving her the bright “Emslie’s” teal color paint! As of right now she is starting off slow at the Barre Farmers Market every Wednesday but we plan to join more events. We hope to rent her out for events or do pop up sales if in demand.
